According to a Westwood College website, 60% of jobs available 10 years from now, have not been created yet. Therefore, it is vital for students to get as much access with technology as possible. It is a definite necessity that every student uses a computer everyday, so they can continue to grow and develop along with the changing trends of technology.
Philosophy of Education:
My philosophy about teaching can best be summed up through the lyrics of a Whitney Houston song. “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.” Therefore my goal as an educator is to create a student’s love for learning, so they can become life-long learners.
I believe that every child can succeed if they are taught in an environment conducive to their learning style. Every child has a unique learning style, and they need to be given the correct and necessary tools to strengthen their knowledge. That is why project based self-directed learning is key. With the use of technology and hands-on projects, students are able build upon prior knowledge and become self-guided and collaborative learners. By teaching students how to self-direct their learning, they will gain the tools necessary to become life-long learners. This, in turn, will create a better future.
